Be careful what you wish for, if you wish for more authority to brand Americans terrorists and go after people. You’re likely increasing your own odds of ending up in whatever they replace Guantanamo with.

That said, as far as this guy is concerned… I think a life sentence will be fine.

Given the nature of his claims and crimes, a “loud, lengthy, invasive investigation on Roederâ€™s claims” by authorities at many levels is pretty well guaranteed. Well, at least the lengthy and invasive parts. I’m sure they’ll be thorough. They probably won’t be loud until/unless they have some solid results to move on.

Poor guy. They’re treating him like a criminal!

I don’t see any good reason NOT to do a loud, lengthy, invasive investigation on Roeder’s claims, seriously inconveniencing his friends and known associates. At the very least, it would give authorities a better idea as to which pro-life groups genuinely abhor Roeder’s actions and which ones are, in truth, not especially troubled.

I have no doubt that some small subset of the pro-life movement views Roeder and those that have come before him as heroes after a fashion. Identifying and keeping an eye on such folks makes common sense to me. How much tolerance or benign neglect of those “barely troubled” will it take to beget folk legends and foster further radicalizing?

Yeah, my heart bleeds. As someone who uses the CPAP (sleep apneamachine) myself, I say don’t give it to him. I used to get awful sleep without it … don’t see why this jerkweed should be allowed to get good sleep after committing a murder and warning of more.
