‘Avenging Amanda Terkel’?
By The Pajama Pundit | Related entries in Media, Partisan Hacks…or lowering yourself to Fox News’ level (which is saying something).
While I understand just what the folks at OpenLeft.com are doing, I think it’s downright lame.
When Bill O’Reilly sends out his goon squad to harass people with whom he disagrees, it ain’t right. [I've railed against it before] It’s also ain’t right when someone who disagrees with Bill O’ (and Fox News in general) does the same thing. Stooping to the level of ‘ambush journalism’ is wrong — regardless of political ideology.

Mike Wallace made an entire career out of ambush journalism and so do hundreds of local tv reporters who call themselves “troubleshooters” or “newshawks”
The only difference is what we are seeing now is fundamentally dishonest–O’Reilly’s goon squad is looking to take out people Bill agrees with, and resorts to ambush journalism first.

gerryf — you are indeed correct. However, I would argue that journalists like Mike Wallace actually allowed their ‘victims’ to answer the questions when they were ambushed.
Oh, and they didn’t berate their interviewees by saying things like they were ‘far-left hatemongers’ et al.
Thanks for your comment!

I completely disagree with you on this one, I think it’s fair to use the same tactics on them. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll put a little more thought into these types of behaviors if they know people are actually paying attention to what low lifes they are.

During the Cold War it was called Mutual Assured Destruction. Some say it kept the evil empire from starting a nuclear war.
