As for Orwell's being a crap writer, I disagree. Down and Out in Paris and London is wonderfully descriptive. 1984 is one of the few examples of speculative fiction to be rightly considered literature. I was intentionally choosing to rely on the convenience of a prefabricated expressions (ie, it's George Bush's fault), and in so doing became generic caricatures of a left wing nut job.
