Wow. This is even bigger than last time, which was Obama 51%, McCain 38%.
That’s a 9% difference between the first debate and this one.

According to the poll, 64 percent had a favorable opinion of Obama after the debate, an an increase of four points from his pre-debate showing. McCain’s approval rating remains unchanged: 51 [...]

These numbers look a lot like CBS’ numbers on the first debate, where Obama won by 13%.
Here are the numbers from a poll of 500 uncommitted voters…

When historians look back on this election, I actually think that this debate will prove to be an important opportunity missed by McCain. Tonight he had to “take the gloves off” and he didn’t even come close.

I just don’t think McCain connected with the audience as well as Obama did tonight.

Again, I’d be surprised if McCain really goes after Obama tonight, but I don’t know if he really has any other choice.
