Here are the number of times, according to NEXIS, that various topics have been mentioned in the media over the past thirty days:

“Yoo and torture” – 102

“Mukasey and 9/11″ — 73

“Yoo and Fourth Amendment” — 16

“Obama and bowling” — 1,043

“Obama and Wright” — More than 3,000 (too many to be counted)

“Obama and patriotism” – 1,607

“Clinton and Lewinsky” — 1,079

It really can’t be said enough…for all that you do…thank you media!

    I understand your point – and I appreciate it – but they are just businesses. If you look at the top 10 TV shows (Nielsen) as well:

    1 American Idol (Fox) (Tuesday) 27.34

    3 Dancing with the Stars (ABC) (Monday) (P) 21.15
    4 Dancing with the Stars (ABC) (Tuesday) (S) 17.02

    7 60 Minutes (CBS) 11.54
    8 The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS) 11.47
    9 Lost (ABC) 11.46
    10 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC) 11.37

    The problem is the audience, the people in the USA simply don’t care about their country, the running of their government, social and economic justice, and personal liberty. They want to forget, they want to be entertained, and when reminded about their apathy they become enraged and counter attack with talk about the “assault on their freedom of speech” while they crawl back into their media rooms.

    I prefer Danial Drezner’s demolition of Greenwald on this.

    I know I shouldn’t as if this was a knife fight Glenn would be unarmed.
