Android O Features That We Are Anxious to Test
Even though the Android 7 Nougat did not reach its final version on the supported models, there are already some rumors about the Android O. Here you have a brief list of the features that it will bring. Some say that a couple of features will make us see that Nougat is far better than it, but that remains to be seen after it will have the official release.
Notification Channels
Up until now, you couldn’t filter the notifications from several different apps, which meant that your menu was getting quite cluttered after a while. Thankfully, the new feature will help you see more easily what you want to see from each app. Moreover, the feature will be integrated with popular apps, such as YouTube, Facebook and so on.
Extra Security without Too Many Restrictions
Sideloading is an appreciated feature with the Android OS, but this is a double-edged sword, since many malicious people can take advantage of this. Android O brings more security to its devices, by asking users to grant permission both from the APK installer and from the installed app. This means there are less chances of apps to be sideloaded without your permission.
Picture in Picture
This is perhaps the most popular feature that will come with the Android O. Up until now, you couldn’t actually multitask like this on any Android device, especially with apps such as YouTube. With this feature, you don’t need to stop watching a particular video or to close a window you need, since you can do both at the same time.
For now, the developer preview version of the Android O only works on the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Pixel XL and Pixel C. Even so, we don’t have yet a release date, and Android Nougat is not that close of getting a final version, so we still have to wait.
