Well, I Know Who Lost…

First he kept cutting Clinton off and asking her if she’d agree to something that Gore said in the early 90s? Then he asked Obama that inane Farrakhan question AND repeated that idiot’s anti-Semtic slurs? Tim Russert, seriously…WTF?

Also, was it just me or did Brian Williams seem like he didn’t even want to be there?

As for the two candidates, both did well but, once again, Hillary’s attempt at a joke was just that…an attempt. It fell completely flat. She really shouldn’t have made the Xerox crack at the last debate or the SNL reference at this one. Both of them made her look petty and Obama easily countered both. I’m not sure why she hasn’t picked up on the fact that Obama is deft at turning this stuff back around on her, but I guess she thought she had to come out fighting.

Another example of this was when she said he should “reject” Farrakhan’s endorsement instead of just “denounce” him. Obama again turned this around on her and politely offered that he’d do both “reject” and “denounce” if that would make her feel better.

But yeah, that’s it. Pretty much a wash, with maybe Obama coming out looking better just because Hillary made a couple unforced errors.

UPDATE:
Here’s the video of Russert’s Farrakhan question…

Josh Marshall has an opinion…

As a Jew and perhaps more importantly simply as a sentient being I found it disgusting. It was a nationwide, televised, MSM version of one of those noxious Obama smear emails.

I wonder what Tim will have to say about the debate this Sunday…

Keep in mind that Hillary was forcing Obama to do a stern rejection of Farrakhan and of his former preacher who supports Farrakhan’s views. It doesn’t look too good when you are rejecting on national television a preacher who you quote in your own book. HIllary won this round. She won the debate. She’ll win Texas and Ohio too. She’s raising money as well. Comeback time.

I agree. I thought the entire debate was lame and rehashed garbage. Even the “substantive” parts consisted of Hillary claiming experts liked her health care plan more than Obama’s plan, while he claimed the reverse. That’s not substance. The debate over mandates and punishments is real, but that has been done before too.

This debate sought to be Meet The Press, looking for a gotcha moment, which is why Russert kept hounding them for specific answers to rather inane points. Just a waste.

After 20 of these, we’ve seen it all before. Now, these debates are simply opportunities for networks to catch a candidate in an awkward position on something trivial.

Obama is our Savior. Please everyone, we must rally around Obama and Michelle and empower them to create the change we need in evil racist america. Can we give Michelle something to be proud about when it comes to racist america. Michelle was oppressed at Princeton and Harvard and gave voice to all who know what an evil country this was till Obama ran for President. Barak will treaty with our muslim brothers and apologize for an arrogant america.
