Poll: Hillary Widens Lead In Pennsylvania

In March 18th’s Quinnipiac poll, she leads 53% to 41%. Their last poll was taken in late February, so I can’t help but think the Wright story has hurt Obama here. That seems to be the trend if you note the demographic breakdowns…

  • White voters go with Clinton 61 – 33 percent, compared to 56 – 37 percent February 27.
  • Black voters back Obama 76 – 18 percent, compared to 69 – 23 percent February 27.
    Women back Clinton 59 – 35 percent.
  • Men go 48 percent for Obama to 45 percent for Clinton, compared to February 27 when men backed him 50 – 43 percent.
  • Obama gets 50 percent of Democrats with a college degree, to Clinton’s 45 percent.
Among voters with no college degree, Clinton leads 57 – 37 percent.
  • Voters under 45 back Obama 57 – 39 percent while voters over 45 back Clinton 60 – 34 percent.

Also of note, a Public Policy Polling’s March 18th study (pdf) shows Hillary at 56% and Obama at 30%. Obviously there’s 14% worth of room in there for Obama to make up ground, but if they split that, Hillary will get the big win Pennsylvania she needs to keep going. This doesn’t mean the delegate math will end up in her favor, but maybe she can make one last ditch pitch to the superdelegates with her “big state” meme.

One last thing…the Pennsylvania contest is still over a month away on April 22. Think Obama can close at least some of this gap by then?

No. I don’t think Barack can close the gap in PA. In fact, I think he loses by an even larger margin than the current 26-point margin.

    The guy is toast.

  3. Figueroa Slim Says:

Sayonara, Slick Barry. PA will be a loss of 20+ points. Polls will start leaning more and more to Hillary Clinton. Obama created his own race problem, with his own selection of a lunatic as his mentor. Enjoy the freefall, Barack.

Now that the article has shown up from 1996 by Ron Fournier, it is time for people and especially the media to apologize to Hillary Clinton.

She was whisked off to war torn area while Sinbad and Shery Crow stayed to entertain the troops.

Tuzla was dangerous and when she landed she was protected by riflemen due to snipers being in the area, although she was safe.
Mrs Clinton was there to thank our troops over and over for their bravery.

The men want her to quit they can’t stand for a woman to be in charge and Nancy Pelosi is so jealous she feels that she wants to be the first woman President.
Clearly a lot of people need to vote for Hillary Clinton and apologize.

  6. Sonia Says:

Obama’s supporters are ganging up on Hillary and calling for her to quit, and now Mr Obama Nice Guy, stands in front of an American Flag and says NO let her keep running.

What a phony he is, I pray the American people can see through him before it is too late.

I just think that both campaigns have gotten really rough, inaccruate statements and brutal to one another. I think they both need to take a good look at their image right away. Hillary your fighter but try to maintain your positive points don’t let pundit’s, smear campaigns and ugly gestures by others detract from your goal. Obama wants to hurt you but he is drowning in alot of his own stuff. Hold on Hillary your day is coming! Keep the faith! It will happen! Those who have said no way have a surprise coming!
