Sean Astin Pushing “Barack Hussein Obama” Meme?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Bad Decisions, Barack, Democrats, Hillary

Now this is weird.

The guy who played Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy was Hillary’s surrogate in the Washington delegation caucus. The fact that he was there is odd just on its own, but what he said when he gave his speech was even odder…

“Should Obama get the nomination I will become a massive Barack Hussein Obama supporter.”

But until then he will apparently massively remind people that he has the same middle name as one of the more vicious dictators in recent memory.

*sigh*

Folks, I don’t ask for much, but can we stop the “Hussein” talk already? Pretty please?

What? Hussein’s his middle name, isn’t it? His mother named him Hussein, you have a problem with the name Barack Hussein Obama’s mother and father gave him? Is there something wrong with being named Hussein?

I’m not saying he’s a Muslim or anything, not as far as I know, but I think it should be OK to use his name Hussein, just to be clear that we are talking about Barack Hussein Obama, and not some other Barack Obama.

We use middle names like Hussein a lot to make clear who we’re talking about, like Khalid Sheik Mohammed instead of Khalid Mohammed, or Osama bin Laden rather than just Osama Laden.

So it’s totally normal to refer to Barack Hussein Obama, and in fact is meant to pay great respect to his Islamic heritage, since he is named for the grandson of the Prophet Muhammed, and Hussein actually means “good or handsome” in Arabic. The Clinton campaign would never denigrate Barack Hussein Obama’s proud multicultural heritage.

Yeah if you actually believe that then you are an idiot, the only reason they are saying it is because his name happens to be the same as the former leader of Iraq, you don’t hear McCain’s middle name being used much, why? Because no one care, but using Hussein affiliates Obama with Saddam, and Islam and all the things that right wing nutters hate (and Hillary is one of those right wing nutters, a former republican who only joined the dems for political benefit)

Clinton Surrogate’s post proves the point. about why use of Obama’s middle name is simply an attempt to smear him. If names are so important to you, why are you one of the few who uses a fake name to post? I’ll bet your real name is Clinton “Adolf” Surrogate, isn’t it.

Hey, if you can’t beat him arguing policies, Swift Boat him, assassinate his character, associate him with terrorists, or challenge his patriotism. We’ve caught on to those tactics.

Intelligent people don’t elect a President based on whether he would be a great guy to have a beer with and reject someone who has a middle name similar to some hated person. And they won’t this time.

Grow some balls and tell us why you really dislike that non-Aryan half breed Muslim liberal Socialist who’s going to be the Democratic nominee.

Clinton surrogate….I appreciate the humor in your post but one thing you should know so people don’t think you’re an idiot. In Arabic “bin” means “son of” so Osama is the son of laden………Sort of like John is the son of (Mc) Cain………
