50 Edwards Backers Endorse Obama

No doubt this will do a lot to solidify a win for Obama in North Carolina.
[...] nearly 50 of his most prominent backers lined up behind Senator Barack Obama today, in a gesture designed to give Mr. Obama a heavy boost of support less than two weeks before the North Carolina primary on May 6.The group includes Ed Turlington, Mr. Edwards’s former national general campaign chairman; three North Carolina members of Congress; and 46 local activists, philanthropists and business leaders, among others. (Not surprisingly, given Mr. Edwards’s background, the list holds the names of 20 lawyers.)
Mr. Turlington, speaking from his law office in Raleigh, said that he had not expected to endorse a candidate after Mr. Edwards dropped out of the race on Jan. 30.
“I thought I was going to be on the sidelines,” Mr. Turlington said, adding that he made the decision about 10 days ago, after speaking to Mr. Obama. “I think his candidacy is doing a lot of important things that are similar to themes that John Edwards ran on.”
Now, those supporters are quick to say that they have no idea whose side Edwards will ultimately come down on, but if he doesn’t back Hillary, these endorsements give the appearance of giving Obama an unofficial thumbs up from the man himself.
More as it develops…

I am so tired of HRC spin and dis program. She reminds me of a vicious John Candy in Uncle Buc. With shinny hatchet in hand, glinting in the dark of night, threatening the young smart ass…. “take a nick off the kneecap, shave a notch off the elbow, not kill you…. just maim.
Oh, but it wasn’t me!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Dear!!!
Obama isn’t a muslim…. that I know of..
Obama hasn’t reached the commander in chief threshold like McCain and ME.
I would have left…..
Arrrrrrrrrrghhhh
She now berates the states that didn’t have primaries. She claims “ready on day one”, where is her readiness to all of the campaign??????? from day one of the campaign??????
She sounds so Roveish/Republican/NeoCon
Oh I forgot she is a neo

Could Edwards and any super-dels he has play a role in this election? What kinds of things would he be holding out for in order to get his endorsement? I know a lot of what is going on with Hillary right now isn’t really about winning, she understands thats impossible, but rather its about getting her policy points, her people, etc, involved in Obama’s regime.
I’m curious what your thoughts are on this.

What are my thoughts? I think you are incredibly naive if you think for a minute that MrsC cares a whit about “policy points, her people etc” as opposed to being TheFirstWomanPrsident(tm).. The only thing driving MrsC now is her fingernails’ grasp on that piece of history she’s craved for decades. MrsC goes to bed at night and dreams of her face on money, monuments in DC, national holidays, all celebrated her breakthrough as TheFirstWomanPrsident(tm).
