Obama To Settle Hillary’s Debt?

It’s becoming apparent that this is the way he’ll end this “fight” sooner rather than later, and while I can guess many of his supports will cry foul…it makes a lot of sense.

From NY Times:

Senator Barack Obama said today that he would not rule out the possibility of helping Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton retire her campaign debt to bring her into the fold and unify Democrats. But he said no discussions have taken place yet.

“Obviously, I’d want to have a broad-ranging discussion with Senator Clinton about how I could make her feel good about the process and have her on the team moving forward,” Mr. Obama said. “But as I said, it’s premature right now. she’s still actively running and we’ve still got business to do right here in Oregon and in other states.” [...]

Mr. Obama suggested today that there would be some precedent for helping erase her debt.

“I think historically after a campaign is done and you want to unify the party – particularly when you’ve had a strong opponent,” Mr. Obama said, “you want to make sure that you’re putting that opponent in a strong position so that they can work to win an election in November.”

Listen, Hillary is not going to get the VP nod, so it’s very likely she’ll want the Senate majority leader position. And this is an easy way to make sure that happens.

Done and done.

I really, really hope that, if he pays her other debts, he draws the line at repaying the “loans” that she made to her own campaign.

Pay all the businesses that she has stiffed? Sure! But pay back her own money that she spent to prolong the campaign? No way!

I’d feel bad for everyone who’s donating to his campaign if he pulls that. It’s her responsibility to stay out of debt – if she can’t handle her own finances, then how is she going to handle the senate?

Only a stupid liberal would be dumb enough to contribute to Obama to pay down a debt incurred by a multi millionaire. Isn’t this a case of the rich taxing the poor
