ABC Reveals More On Palin’s TrooperGate
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, History, Palin, VideoThere seems to be a lot of “there” there. No wonder she hired a lawyer.
Tell me what you think.
UPDATE:
Looks like the subpoenas are being issued now and the investigation is expected to conclude by early October instead of October 31st.
Stay tuned…

Every time I hear Brian Ross’ voice I get excited for some serious political scandal entertainment, much like Pavlov’s dog.

Wanna put some money down on this Justin?

Put money on what? that there will be continued obfuscation of the investigation by Palin’s lawyers until this blows over or the election comes and goes?

I’m in for 100 that Palin used her office to do “what she thought was right” - which was get rid of any one who “wasn’t on her team” - and by “on her team” I mean people who do what she says - and by “do what she says” I mean fire good-for-nothing people - and by good-for-nothing people I mean - her dangerous ex-brother-in-law who should not be out on the streets with a gun. It is exactly what we think it is - which I’m pretty sure is illegal.

I lived in Alaska ten years. I knew Sarah Palin when she was mayor of Wasilla, Walt Monegan when he was Anchorage police chief, and Hollis French.
The governor can fire Monegan for any reason or no reason and it should be no big deal. He is an appointed official held over by the governor she beat. Monegan is a political animal first and foremost. He presided over a police force that arrested people for possessing marijuana when the courts had already said it was legal. His police force busted headshops only to twice have to pay damages and return the merchandise.
The person Sarah Palin wanted fired had threatened the life of her parents! Why wasn’t he fired? Why wasn’t he in jail? Monegan is scum. Palin is a religious libertarian conservative but a good person. Hollis French is playing political football.

Palin is not a libertarian, she’s a theocrat.

WWOD — “What Would Obama Do?” is the question that needs to asked here. When confronted with a difficult situation in which an executive decision must be made, Obama would have picked up the voice and with a clear and steady voice told the Public Safety Department, “I am present.”

she cant fire anyone she wants. she cant fire someone for refusing to do something illegal (ie fire the trooper). and she obviously did it and lied about it. whoever peeked in his records is going to jail just like jerk abramoff, ted stevens, and the rest of the culture of corruption.

Give me a break! This whole Troopergate thing is nothing but a witch hunt—Governor Palin did nothing wrong, the person at fault is Monegan for not firing this maniac state trooper Mike Wooten.
And the person in charge of the investigation, Hollis French, has been exposed as a partisan Democrat Obama supporter who has leaked information damaging to Governor Palin. http://www.notwrightforamerica.com has the details that you won’t get from the liberal media, Flopping Aces has a good post on this too.

The Republicans have exactly in Palin what they falsely accused Barack of. Early on in this race Republicans loved to say that Barack was a “Roll of the Dice” and a “Celebrity”! The hand of Karma is swift and the chickens have come home to roost in the guise of Sarah Palin who is the real roll of the dice (no foreign or national experience) and a celebrity (on the cover of US Weekly, People, National Enquirer, etc.). What you Sow you shall Reap! Maverick McCain who truly loves to gamble, loves Las Vegas, just risked the safety and welfare of this nation with his roll of the dice VP pick, Sarah Palin!

i think there was some motto or something that the founding fathers came up with.. what is it.. what is it.. OH YEAH!! I remember! innocent until proven guilty! ive never actually seen any evidence that Wooten did a damn thing.. its all just accusations made by the family her sister could just be a backstabbing $&!%# who wanted revenge on him for leaving her..
and for those of you who are going to try to reply to this with “that can go both ways, Palin is innocent until proven guilty too!”. No, in her case shes guilty until proven innocent for one simple reason.. SHES RUNNING TO BE THE 2ND MOST POWERFUL PERSON IN THE WORLD! if someone accuses her of something she has to be able to disprove it, and she obviously can’t…
The media and the people leading the investigation need to dig up as much info as they can to find out the truth. Whether she is innocent or not, she hasnt been able to disprove it so she needs to be investigated and we need to know the truth.
I cant believe we’re even hearing this arguement after you all wanted clinton impeached over lying about a blow job he got. That was his own personal issue with his wife, it wasnt a scandal over abuse of power and yet republicans tried to kick him out of office for it.. Get over it, republicans dont get a free ride.. especially not after the last 8 years..

[...] Long story short, the press is uncovering one misleading statement after another, and as the press keeps digging they seem to be finding more and more, not the least of which is TrooperGate. [...]

Well Justin, come up with a definition that you think proves there is a “there” there. It cannot be anything like an indictment because the person on question was a political apointee who serves at the discretion of the Governor.
Right now all we have got is a complaint that Palin didn’t have the right “motivation” for getting rid of the guy. Now unless Democrats invent something like a “heart pure and true” machine that infallibly measures the moral quality of people’s intentions, all we are going to be left with is mere partisan hackery on the left.
Unless you want to propose an alternative objective measure.
(Hint: There isn’t one possible.)
