“Obama Is An Arab” Meme Being Spread With McCain Resources?
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, McCain, Religion, VideoRemember that woman who stood up at a recent McCain rally and claimed Obama is an arab? Thankfully McCain quickly corrected her, but as the following interview that was conducted directly after the event shows, she still believes Obama is an arab.
What’s even more disconcerting is it appears as if she’s sending letters that states this belief and making calls to voters using McCain campaign resources.
Watch…
Here’s the part of the interview that we should all be concerned about…
Adam Aigner:
So even though Senator McCain told you that he didn’t feel that was true and you ought to be more respectful, you still fear that?Gayle Quinnell:
I still do. Yeah. I’m not alone. I go to Burnsville, the main Republican headquarters and I do a lot of work over there. A lot of sending out mail and talking to people. And all the people agree with what I’m saying to you about Obama.Aigner:
Then do you feel there are a lot of volunteers for McCain who feel that way?Quinnell:
Yes. A lot of them. In fact I got a letter from another woman that goes over there to Burnsville and she sent me more things about Obama.Aigner:
What was on the letter?Quinnell:
Oh all kinds of bad things about him and how, I mean I have to tell you to call me. It’s all bad.Reporter:
Are a lot of people getting this letter and are a lot of people believeing it and is that turning a lot of votes or support for McCain?Quinnell:
Yeah I sent out 400 letters. I went to Kinkos and I got them all printed out. And I sent about 400 letters. I went in the telephone book and sent them out to people. So they can decide if they would want Obama.
Mix that with videos like the one over at this post, and we’re not just seeing isolated events here and there. This is a pattern.
I mean, hell, my grandfather is a DEVOTED Democrat, but he still thinks Obama could be a muslim. Folks, he won’t believe me or his own wife. That’s how deep this stuff goes.
This is a serious problem and if we pretend like it’s not happening or it doesn’t exist we’re doing a disservice to the truth.

Thank you for that illuminating post JG. This relates directly to my comments in your previous post, so I won’t need to repeat them. It will be interesting and disturbing to see how this monster that the mccain campaign has created plays out in the future.

Well, they let the Djinn out. Now its gonna be hard to put him back in.
I hope they can do something before one of these isolated morons does something that gets us all put on Martial Law. I remember how we all used to get punished in school or the military when some idiot screwed up, this is just beggin one of these idiots to do something.

McCain is losing control of his own supporters. This will degenerate into something he does not want, which is a massive loss on November 4th.
The tipping point will be when you see klansman and skinheads being escorted out of rallies by McCain security, all taped and shown on national TV.

This woman is pitiful.
She is obviously easily confused. When the young lady was speaking to her she said no he is not muslim and not Arab either.
Plain and simple she is against him because he is not white and has a funny sounding name.
It makes me sad to see the ignorance of hate.

If ignorance is bliss, that old woman is definitely in Heaven.

Hold up. I think a lot of people are missing an important point. McCain scolded the women for calling Obama an “Arab” by contesting that he is actually a “decent man.” Yes, he was right in correcing her (since Obama is not Arab), but shouldn’t his response have been simply that there’s nothing wrong with being Arab in the first place? The fact that he immediately treated that label as an insult (and that the news media appears to be doing the same) should be extremely disconcerting. What exactly is everyone here equating that word with?
Has Obama ever even been called Arab by McCain? Maybe this lady is confusing “Arab” with the earlier accusations that Obama was Muslim? That would be wrong since Arab and Muslim are two entirely separate things (and neither should have negative connotations). Or maybe she’s thinking of the recent McCain ad that uses the word “terrorist” in the same sentence as Obama’s name? Either way this is completely deplorable on everyone’s part.

This woman is confused and needs to be removed as a volunteer in the local McCain camp. She is sending out propaganda that hasn’t been approved by her party and that may be prosecutable. It is so sad that the word “arab” and the word “terrorist” go hand in hand. Obviously this is an uneducated (read prejudiced) person and the camp needs to disassociate from her.

Just reinforces my thought that your should have a certain IQ to be allowed to vote. The frightening part of the interview is when she said she had children and grandchildren……..who the hell allowed this genetic swamp to breed.
Need a license to drive, need a license to own a dog but anyone can have a child and vote…….frightening.
