Sorry For My Lack Of Posting Lately
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in BloggingBetween multiple outside projects and general blogging malaise at the end of the summer, I’m fairly unmotivated.
Pile on top of that the fact that most of the people I invited to help out on the blog a couple months ago have either dropped out, barely done anything or haven’t even started (with the notable exception of Nancy Hanks. Thank you Nancy!) and, well, yeah…I’m sure you understand my frustrations.
Don’t worry. I’m not quitting. Just letting you know what’s going on, why it’s going on and how I’m feeling.
I’ll jump back on it soon enough, but expect the next week or so to be light as I get back into the swing of things.

I haven’t Alan Carl Stewart on here in a while. Is he one of the folks to whom you’re referring, Justin? I enjoyed his take on things during the campaign frenzy. He took great care to maintain a moderate conservative stance.

Hey Justin — that’s why you “hired” me — and I’m sure I’ll get a big raise as a result of my prolificness! Recharge, take 2 aspirin, and call me in the morning! (BTW, we’re doing the Clinton Global Initiative, right?)

blackoutyears, Alan is just taking a break to focus on work. That was one of the reasons I invited additional folks to help out. Unfortunately, hasn’t exactly panned out. Oh well. These things happen.
Nancy, seriously, thanks so much again. I just shot you an email about CGI. Check your inbox and we’ll talk.

I’ve just been hammered with other obligations and haven’t had time. I apologize. I hope that things settle down and I’ll be able to pick up with the Roundup soon.

Hey all — I know that I’m somewhat hit-and-miss here at the Donk, but I thought that I’d drop my two coppers in the jar.
Like Justin, I have been trying to get myself out of a big ‘ole blog-funk. I find myself interested in various stories and subjects, but lack the inspiration to actually write about said stories and subjects.
I just got back from a week-long vacation at the Jersey Shore and was hoping that the batteries would indeed be recharged. I have yet to see the energy boost take effect.
So, to Justin, I sympathize. Hopefully some inspiration will strike us like so many bolts of lightning. To Nancy, you are doing great work! Keep it up! To all of the loyal Donklephant community, this is a great place to come and get varied points-of-view and I value each and every opinion that is presented here. While there may be a slight lull right now, 2010 isn’t that far away… =)

PJ, glad to hear I’m not the only one, but thanks much for posting on the Donk lately.
And 2010 indeed!!!! Lots more horse race stuff and a second year of a presidency. Sure to be a lot of scandals and nonsense. :-)

Now I feel guilty. But I’ve never been good for more than a post or two a week. Oddly, I was in a blogging funk from the time of the passage of the Stimulus bill and the 9,000 earmark budget until about a month or so ago. I’m starting to feel better now.
Don’t worry Justin, this too shall pass. I’m sure we’ll be spending trillions more that we don’t have very soon.
Anyway, I got one that I’m sure everyone will hate. I should be able to get it posted in the morning.

Don’t feel guilty mw. It’s not you.
And actually, nobody should feel guilty. But part of me felt let down by the lack of follow through with the folks who I brought on. Spent a lot of time talking to a lot of people and then virtually zilch.
Just wish people wouldn’t agree to things and then don’t hold up their end of the bargain.

You are exactly right!!
This is a really wonderful moment for progressives and for independents and for really just regular people. We have been through so much, we have “manned the trenches”, we have sought for alternative avenues, we have voiced our opinions.
And history will tell us what to do. I’m so proud of all of you who stand tall at Donklephant. Let’s stick together through thick and thin and win this thing in the end.

Sorry, Justin. Doing real things in the real world about which I cannot be specific online. Since money is involved and I have a family prioritizing became very necessary, and if I have an hour a day (cumulative, not at once) to read on the ‘net, much less write, not much unpaid anything is getting done and that mostly via aircard/netbook in spare moments. My current efforts are a lot more likely to lead to real life/health improvements for real people than any amount of blogging I could ever do, so….and they pay me, too. ;-)
I did warn you this was likely to happen. Toss me an email if you want to know what I can tell you about what’s going on while staying inside of ethical boundaries.

Tully, no need to apologize. I always considered you more of a guest blogger anyway so I never counted on your contributions. Others, though, signed on to do it on a fairly regular basis and they didn’t keep up their end of the bargain. Oh well, that’s life.
Glad to hear you’re fighting the good fight! Drop me an email.

Tully:
Here in the tail end of the Republican recession it’s good that you have work. As I’m sure you agree.
