Justin:
The Democrats have been trying to play nice with the GOP but in the end they have no choice but to go it alone and ram that bill through reconciliation. The GOP don’t want to play ball with the President.

I’m dismayed at the fact that “end-of-life” counseling is not being addressed in this bill. The idea of a “Death Panel;” however absurd, really isn’t that far away from the truth. And the future demands regulations.
Please see this interview for such proof:

Don’t pay too much attention to the Baucus bill. There is another bill in the Senate — the HELP Committee bill — that is much better. Baucus’ bill still has not gone through his own committee.
The HELP Bill was written largely by Ted Kennedy’s staff, and addresses one of Snowe’s major concerns — that health insurance would still be out of reach for Americans between 300%-400% of poverty. This costs a lot, tho, and one of her other problems is that the bill costs too much.
The proposals have to be put together by Reid before they’re voted on.

@Victor: Fantastic! Everyone should follow that link :) I wonder if you realize it’s satire though?

Satire? Hadn’t occurred to me.
But do pass the link around, we must spread the word: gummy bears for all!
