Prevent the iOS 11 Beta Installation From Getting Stuck
Apple finally released iOS for beta testing and all Apple enthusiasts were eager to try it out. However, we were disappointed to discover that there is a bug that didn’t allow many users to install iOS 11 Beta 9 or Public Beta 8. The installation got stuck on the ‘Preparing Update’ screen and there was no way to get past that. Luckily, a solution has been found and we are here to share it with you.
How to fix this bug and install iOS beta
Make sure that you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. It is not recommended to use your data for big updates and you should also make sure that your Wi-Fi is strong enough for the installation. First of all, open the Settings app and your device should automatically start downloading the update once again.
In your Settings app navigate to General and then go to iPhone storage. The beta installer will calculate how much storage is needed for the installation. Wait until the system files are loaded.
Follow the instruction that will appear on the screen and, when prompted, select the iOS OTA update.
Next you will have to delete the iOS 11 beta file that was downloaded previously. That will make the OTA file fetching and installation restart once again and this time the installation shouldn’t get stuck.
After you have deleted the file, go to General and then open Software Update. Wait until the window refreshes and then a new notification should show up, telling you that a new iOS beta update is available.
Select Download and Install and go again through the installation process. This should solve the problem and you should be able to run the iOS beta update on your Apple device.
