Up until now, lots of Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus phones have received the update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Finally, AT&T started to do the same, just a couple of days after Sprint was the first one to do so.

Downloading the Note 5 Update

For now, AT&T did not publish the official log for the Note 5 update on the support pages. However, several carrier users have been posting on the forums that they already started to download the Nougat update on their devices. According to them, the build number is NRD90M and it is indeed quite a large update, weighing 1.4 GB. This means that you have to have a stable Wi-Fi connection before downloading the update. Besides Nougat, the new OTA update also brings in the security patches released for Android in March 2017.

Downloading the S6 Edge Plus Update

If for the Note 5 we have no official changelog, AT&T uploaded the one for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The build number is NRD90M too, but the file weighs 1.51 GB, so it’s bigger than the previous one. Naturally, it incorporates the Android security patches released last month, and besides this it offers Samsung Cloud and Samsung Pass. At the same time, they quit some of the apps, such as the MobiTV, AT&T Live or AT&T Address Book.

Just like you would do with any kind of update, if you own one of these devices you can go to the Settings menu on your phone and check for any Nougat update. However, the process of rolling it out has just begun, so there is a possibility that the update is not already available for everybody to download. As such, you might want to wait a couple more days until the update reaches your own device.
