Xiaomi Mi 6 vs. Nexus 6P – Which one is better, if you want an upgrade

Xiaomi Mi 6 is going to be released soon, but its official specs and features have already been unveiled. Mi 6 offers some great characteristics, but the Nexus 6P also comes with everything it needs in order to stand next to it. Let’s compare the two devices and see which one wins.

Design & display

Nexus 6P is still a relevant Android phone that we can use these days. Its all-metal body packs a 5.7-inch screen, a Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass. The Nexus 6P features the same screen to body ratio as the Xiaomi Mi 6, but it has a higher pixel density than the 5.15-inch screen of Mi 6.

Hardware & software

Nexus 6P runs on Android Marshmallow and Google has brought the newest Nougat 7.1.2 version to the phone.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is going to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and this is a small step behind the Nexus smartphone. The front camera of Xiaomi Mi 6 is a bit better than the Nexus one. Mi 6 has a dual-lens rear-facing camera with a 12MP and a 4-axis OIS, PDAF and dual LED flash. The Nexus features a rear camera of 12.3MP and a selfie shooter of 8MP.

The phones’ battery capacity is a little different, as the Nexus 6P comes with a 3,450 mAh and the Xiaomi Mi 6’s battery features a capacity of 3,350 mAh. Both smartphones have a fingerprint scanner and also a fast-charging battery feature. .

Xiaomi Mi 6 runs on Snapdragon 835 on a chip, and the Nexus 6P features the 810 series. Mi 6 runs faster than the Nexus 6P but the latter is also a powerhouse.

Price and availability

Xiaomi Mi 6 is an affordable device – $365. This is a better value for the money, especially for users who plan on upgrading their old phones.

The Nexus 6P cannot be found in the official stores anymore but users can get it from second-hand shops. Xiapmi Mi 6 is going to be on sale starting April 28, according to Ars Tehnica.
