Cindy For The Senate?

Jeezus

CARACAS, Venezuela â€â€? Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush’s Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein to protest what she called the California lawmaker’s support for the war in Iraq.

“She voted for the war. She continues to vote for the funding. She won’t call for an immediate withdrawal of the troops,” Sheehan told The Associated Press in an interview while attending the World Social Forum in Venezuela along with thousands of other anti-war and anti-globalization activists.

“I think our senator needs to be held accountable for her support of George Bush and his war policies,” said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old soldier son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.

Listen, not that you’re going to read this, but I’m genuinely sorry for your loss Cindy. You have every right to protest and call the President names and say whatever the hell you want, but please don’t run for the Senate. Please, please, please don’t run. Because if you do, you’re going to turn the primaries into a circus. That’s all this would accomplish, and you and I both know that.

Okay, end of rant.

I agree Cindy won’t read this—my first thought when I read that Sheehan was threatening to run against Democratic Feinstein if she didn’t back a filibuster of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito. Cindy is running on the ‘threats’ platform. She wonders if her son died in vain. She can say what she wants, vote, travel to Venezuela, etc. I think a lot of good men and women fought to save the constitution over it’s 230 years and we all reap the benefits daily. By Cindy’s own admission she knows nothing about politics – she knows she’s grieving and I grieve with her for her and many others’ losses.
THREATS are commonplace nowadays – class tells!

Please Cindy, RUN BABY RUN! I think you can win. I think your son would have wanted you to run and win. We need a voice like yours in the Senate. Please Cindy, run. Do it for all of us little people dying for oil profits.

Please, Please, Please RUN Cindy RUN !!! Just for the sheer entertainment of it all. We need a scopes-monkey type trial for the tin-foil hat wearing, kool-aid drinking, San franciscan wingnut “fringe” of the democratic party.

Will the democrats purge themselves of this demographic nightmare that arguably lost the election for them in 2004? Will they be embraced fully as Howard Dean and Al Gore appear to advocate? Or will they continue to ride the fence like Kerry or Hillary?

Tune in February 16 kids! Same moon-bat time, Same moon-bat channel!

LIsten Jimmy, Donklephant is not a place to get your cheap potshots in. If you want to do that, go somewhere else.

I know you’re new here, and I’ve figured you’d settle down, but our site is a place for debate and discussion. So please quit with all the “moonbat” BS namecalling. It’s tiring and pointless and I won’t have it here.

I too feel for Cindy….or should I say FELT for Cindy. When she hit the news waves last summer, I thought it was touching and helped but a human face on the suffering. Since then she’s slowly evolved into an activist (problems with her husgand from it all, I heard), then an attention-grabbing activist.

Now as her role spreads into an ever wider range of topics, her motherly sincerity is starting to wear out. NOW, she just looks like an opportunistic attention grabber. This move to go after Feinstein is simply silly and she now looks silly. Talk about wearing out your welcome! I think she’s “enjoying” the fame from her son’s death a weeee bit too much. Go home, Cindy. Your job is done.

I know the comments to this blog arent like Kos or littlegreenfootballs, thats why i like to post here; there is real debate in this forum. Sorry if I seemed like the barking moonbats that post there.

You gotta admit the broade is pretty kooky though. There are moonbats on both sides of the isle, her views are as far left as they come. She wrote a letter to ABC claiming there is a Jewish conspiracy to control the worlds oil supply; she also referred to Iraqi insurgents as “freedom fighters”, and that Bush is worse than Hitler(that one’s old). Now She’s kanoodling with Hugo “Caesar” Chavez

She does, however, represent a significant minority of Democratic voters, especially in California. I always thought Dean should’ve been the candidate in ’04, because we could at least have a real debate about America’s role in iraq, rather than Kerry straddling the fence post from month to month.

Look Cindy, we appreciate that you’re all traumatized and everything, but:

    1. Much as I dislike liberals in general, especially the CA brand, Dianne Feinstein knows what the hell she’s doing and has a political background. Your lament quickly went from sincere sounding to attention grabbing ever since you got your whirlwind tour across the country from Moveon and the like.

Given a choice between a real Senator with experience and a grieving mother turned self-serving-activist profiting off her sons death, I’ll take the moderate and responsible Feinstein. (wow, never thought I’d use moderate and Feinstein in the same sentence).

    2. Your son is not the only one who is dead, lady. There are plenty of people out there who DIDN’T get the whirlwind tour and STILL lost their sons, husbands, brothers, sisters, wives, younameit. While I could initially tolerate your heartfelt opinion despite how I felt it undermined the troops who were still there, you have now become a nuisance. My best friend is serving nobly in the marines and knowing him, should they send him off to Iraq he’ll be loading up some firepower with Osama’s name on it.

    3. I’ve had enough of this foolishness. Your son is gone, and no amout of sabotaging his friends and family are going to bring him back. His friends have a mission to complete and you aren’t helping, so if you’d kindly stop being a front for the super-fringe of the Democratic Party, I’d appreciate it. I used to think the Democrats were just using you as a power play, but this has been going on far too long for you to be a mere unwitting pawn in King Dean’s Scheme. Show’s over lady, enough of the melodrama.
