The UN is a useless leech on American society eating up tax dollars in NYC. Their resolutions are paper tigers and they, being unaffected by anything until their countries are attacked, refuse to look reality in the face. Why do you think London is a generally stronger ally than the others in Europe? Because they got attacked and refused to buckle down and stop the Islamo-Fascist wave. France and Germany meanwhile, have played the odds and hoped that if they just appease appease appease, they might be spared from annihalation or sharia law. And if we were really after Oil Jack, WHY would we go to Iraq and disrupt the flow by taking out the guy in charge? If we just wanted the Oil Carrot, we'd be slick like the noble UN and engage in Oil for Food with the merry dictator. I find it interesting that everyone wants to call Bush the "dumb guy", when he is the ONLY one sans Isreal, whose very existence lies in the balance, doing anything proactive about Terrorism. They go hand in hand with all the beer commercials who portray frat boy stupidity as a goal to aspire to. As a wife of an intelligent man and the mother of four boys I get awfully tired of this form of sexism committed by men against themselves. (Sorry, not touching the geopolitical aspects today.) I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds the Dumb Guy ads (and TV shows!) obnoxious. They go hand in hand with all the beer commercials who portray frat boy stupidity as a goal to aspire to. Label the carrot "oil," and the missile "terrorist hysteria," and you have a pretty good picture of the thinking and motivation of this slice of the complex Western pie, a slice which unfortunately has enormous power right now. It has been played by the Iranians, is being played, and it will continue to be played. This clueless slice is in so far over its head it still thinks its in control of the situation. It would be facetious if so many people weren't getting hurt. I agree; it’s not the West that is “dumb guy”, it’s this administration and its continued supporters.
