Did We Find bin Laden And Zawahri?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in News, The War On Terrorism

The CIA seems to think so. They’re in Pakistan, most likely in the Warziristan region that Pakistani government conceded to the Taliban last year.

From ABC:

Osama2_nr_2In the most definitive statement in years, America’s top intelligence official said Tuesday Osama bin laden is in Pakistan actively re-establishing al Qaeda training camps.

The newly appointed Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell made the assertion about bin Laden and his No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Referring to Pakistan’s rugged tribal area, McConnell said “to the best of our knowledge that the senior leadership, No. 1 and No. 2, are there, and they are attempting to re-establish and rebuild and to establish training camps.”

There’s even speculation we have pictures?

U.S. officials would not describe the evidence in any detail, but people in the intelligence community have speculated recently that the CIA may have obtained surveillance photos of either bin Laden or Zawahri in Pakistan.

More on this as it develops.

Sorry, folks. I don’t buy it. I remember the last time they showed us a video, after another from about 2 or 3 weeks previous. In the previous video, bin Laden looked like he was on the verge of death – very thin, almost grey in color. And then in the 2nd video, we see him, supposedly, where he appeared almost overweight & the picture of health. In the 2nd video, he admitted his part in the 9/11 attacks for the 1st time ever. I’m not taking his word for it, either way. I think it is very likely he is dead from his kidney problems. Frankly, it is less convenient for Bush/Cheney, & al Zawahri. for us to believe he is dead. It would remove much support for the war on both sides.

The most important reason I don’t believe Mc Connell is he is speaking for an administration who has repeatedly lied to us. I’m not taking their word for it either. We still need to get the Egyptian: he is the mastermind for al Qaida

It a Rovian conspiracy. The Bush Administration always knew where Bin-Laden has been hiding. In fact, they put him there. I agree with Florida Bob; Bin-Laden is a patsy. The Zionists or Haliburton or something detonated the towers.

The Bush administration is waiting for the 11th hour in 2008 to drop a bomb on him. That way he will gain enough popular support so that he will pass a law giving him dictatorial powers for another 18 months. The bastard stole that idea from our great Revolutionary brother Hugo Chavez.

I love all these conspiracy theories! They’re really creative, but all seem to miss out on the whole point of the deception. What power is gained? A bit of money for haliburton? There are much easier ways to get money.
