Posting For Me Will Be Light

I’m in virtual heaven.
Well, more like I’m in NYC for the Virtual Worlds 2007 conference. And by the way, if you want to know where the next big technology/social networking trend is going to go…check out that link and technologies like Second Life and There. Seriously.
In fact, I was sitting next to some guy who’s a Senior Economist for the Congressional Joint Economic Committee. So if the government sees fit to send an economist along, you know there’s some money in it.
I’ll post more about this technology in the coming months, but for now I’m taking a couple days off of doing heavier posting.

It’s pretty interesting, but still pretty early too. I think it’s going to be big, and it’s already showing signs of just that.
I’d like to hear from anybody else about Virtual Worlds if you’re familiar.

I’m not too familiar, but our University has recently purchased an island in Second Life. We’re not the only ones, either… I know Ohio Universityhas a virtual campus in Second Life as well. There’s apparently talk about it being the next big thing when it comes to reaching out to new students and sharing information.

It’s the next big thing for most anything you can imagine really. But one of the most intriguing pieces is the collaborative learning possibilities, because virtual worlds are in real time and the 2D web really isn’t.
