Some people think that media obsession over "trivial" quirks like these are unfair. I disagree. I think these images touched a nerve, and exposed an underlying truth. Edwards is a kind of pretty-boy lightweight whose a little vain and needs a lot of attention. He didn't really do much as Senator, and would have lost his seat had he not resigned during the 04 election. He looks like a guy whose gotten too much attention his whole life for being cute and smart, and charming, and I think voters don't really take him seriously. And I think the voters and the media are right on this one. Helluva nice guy, though.
