I have to agree with Jimmy (oh my) because I’m sure people think of HRC when this question is posed to them. Stats and poll numbers are always skewed and people wise-up. I’d support a gay, pedophile non-white midget if he/she promised to get the government off my back, but there’s no way in hell I’d ever vote for Clinton. My point being the message is what matters, not the messenger.

DISREGARD ABOVE STATEMENT. Full of errors.

Would I vote for a female candidate? I answered yes. A person’s gender is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. There have beengreat leaders of the female persuasion which prove this beyond any doubt. Queen Elizabeth the First of England comes to mind as does Catherine the Great of Russia and many, many others thereafter.

Fact is, one’s gender is no indicator as to how savvy a politician that person will be. I don’t discount Hilliary Clinton in anyway because she happens to be the first woman to run for president of the United States, rather I discount her on her merits and her merits alone.

America is almost entirely unanimous in it support of women and their coequal rights in every branch of our government. They fought hard for it and quite frankly it has been long, long past due. But as far as Hilliary Clinton is concerned, I don’t believe she deserves the presidency simply because she [happens to be] a woman. She’s got to earn her place in history like everyone else. I don’t believe “this” woman is the “right” woman to be our president our our first female president for that matter. That’s just my honest opinion anyway.

This is sort of like that question, “Do you think the world is better off if America wins in Iraq?” where 20% responded no.

My guess is that certain readers percive this poll question as a code for “Would you vote for Hillary Clinton?” Like some would percieve the question I cited as code for, “Do you support the war in Iraq?”
