Clinton Apologizes For Ferraro

Good for her. This was needed. Ferraro has been WAY out of line and it’s good to see Clinton publicly reject her once and for all.

From AP:

Earlier in the day, Hillary Clinton supporter and fundraiser Geraldine Ferraro gave up her honorary position with Clinton’s campaign after she said in an interview last week that Obama would not have made it this far if he were white. Obama said Ferraro’s remarks were “ridiculous” and “wrong-headed.”

Of Ferraro’s comment, Hillary Clinton told her audience: “I certainly do repudiate it and I regret deeply that it was said. Obviously she doesn’t speak for the campaign, she doesn’t speak for any of my positions, and she has resigned from being a member of my very large finance committee.”

We can only hope that Ferraro goes away after this statement.

Please, please go away.

No. No. No. Sorry, Justin. This apology by Clinton was nowhere near adequate. Fortunately, Keith Olbermann is around to do this properly with a Special Comment. If I heard it correctly, I believe he recommended a public flogging of Ferraro – at least 20 lashes – to be administered by Clinton, followed by waterboarding – also administered by Clinton, then a public execution via electric chair with Clinton throwing the switch.

The “apology” was way overdue and, in my opinion, not that sincere. Keith Olbermann was right. She had a chance right up front to nip this in the bud – but she let it fester because she saw it helping her campaign. In doing so, she has irreparably hurt the Democratic Party.

I don’t see how Obama has the nerve to call Ferraro a racist and to force Hillary into saying she “regrets” Ferraro’s comment. The ONLY thing Hillary needs to regret is that the Obama lovin’ press has made such a big thing of this accurate 1st amendment comment by Gerry. He and his staff are both racist and sexist (Remember the “Hillary is a monster leak)! And only Hillary can actually lead the white voters of this country. Hillary has the experience to be or next President. Only she can be our Commander-in-Chief because she was at Bill’s side each day in the Oval office and knows how it’s done. That’s REAL experience even John McCain can’t claim!

[...] think the hyperbolic rhetoric in the coverage of both Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s sermons and Geraldine Ferraro’s comments were way overblown by the media and bloggers. The amusing context for this interview, was watching [...]
