Poll: Obama Crushing Hillary In North Carolina

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Hillary, North Carolina, Polls

A massive win in the Tar Heel State would certainly be bad news for Hill and company because they need to keep every single contest close from here on out to come anywhere close to catching Obama. Still, it looks like Barack is poised for yet another one of his red state romps.

He currently leads 57/32, and as Public Policy Polling notes…

[...] this is the fifth consecutive PPP poll that has shown Obama with a lead over 18 points in North Carolina. His success is pretty much across the board- a 17 point lead with women, a 36 point advantage with men, large leads across every age group, and in most regions of the state.

Obama is doing particularly well in the areas where he had successful events and a ton of media coverage last week- a 36 point lead in the Triangle and a 31 point margin in eastern North Carolina.

However, if Hill can’t pull off a significant win today in PA, it may not matter.

More as it develops…

If Senator Clinton wins Pennsylvania by any margin she’ll keep going, hoping to win by superdelegate votes. The problem with that hope, of course, is that a crushing loss in NC would end her hopes. Of course I don’t know that she and her supporters would be willing to acknowledge that.

  2. coolrepublica Says:

Obama winning is going to win NC. And? Why should Hillary stop because Obama wins NC. Should Democrat not even bother showing up for the general because McCain will win Wisconsin.

No matter everybody wants to pretend that race doesn’t matter in this election, it does and it favors Obama no matter which way you dice it. North Carolina has a lot of black Americans who long ago decided that if you’re not Obama don’t bother showing up and asking them for vote. So it will be a great surprise if Hillary doesn’t get crushed. A sweet surprise.

NC is hopeless when it comes to vying for black votes in favor of Hillary. Her only hope is for the white people to wake up and turn on the other side for her and realize that in general, blacks goes for blacks, no matter what… even if they know by heart that obama is astarter politician; naive in economy, national security and foreign policy; and has lied at some ocassions.

Oh, and Hillary hasn’t lied her pantsuits off repeatedly all through her career as a politician?!~ C’mon! She is the master of spin and lies, and Americans are beginning to see her as such. She asked us to “overlook” her lies about Bosnia during the debates; that was laughable! She needs to pack her bags and leave this race and stop tearing the Democratic Party to pieces.
