Time for Clinton to Admit Defeat

By Alan Stewart Carl | Related entries in 2008 Election, Hillary

So, Hillary Clinton notches a massive victory in West Virginia and nobody cares. This thing is so over.

Up until now, I’ve made no call for Clinton to step aside. But now I fully believe she needs to end her campaign. She’s lost and it’s getting sad to watch her trudge on and on. She may not be mathematically eliminated but it’s 42 to 7 at the two minute warning.

Time to admit defeat, Senator.

The resounding defeat of Obama, who is trotting around as the self-proclaimed general election candidate, was an expression of PEOPLE POWER that has brought down governments and changed goverments in other countries. The PEOPLE POWER of Sen Clinton’s smashing victory has proclaimed she is the Democratic presidential nominee. The PEOPLE POWER of Sen Clinton’s victor trounced the pro-Obama biased media. Superdelegates who are endorsing Obama in an end run around the Democratic nomination process to swipe the nomination for Obama should LISTEN UP and heed the supreme force of PEOPLE POWER that buttresses Sen. Clinton.

Sen. Clinton win this late in the game is proof she was not ready on day one of the “primary”. Her poor planing and bad strategy has put her in this un-winnable position as far as delegates are concerned. Where was the Pro Obama press last year when she was crowned the nominee? She had no plan, no strategy, and no commitment to the long haul.
And when she said last night “I’ll stand by you as long as you stand behind me” she was telling me that if you don’t stand behind her she will throw you under the bus like so many these past months.

If you want some further proof of just how over it is for Clinton, head on over to CNN’s delegate calculator. She needs to win the remaining primaries with 86% of the vote just to overtake Obama’s delegate lead…. and then score at least half of the remaining superdelegates.

    Not gonna happen.

Bush: Created a mess in Iraq due to no planning, strategy, underestimation of his opponent etc.
Yet he gains support in the red states due to his ballsy, stubborn commitment to a failed, damaging plan. Hey, it shows he’s tough.

I think that to win the general election, Obama needs to never, ever admit that he’s wrong on anything. He should start by retracting his repudiation of Rev. Wright and go from there.

Well, it does seem that in general, the American people are realizing that maybe going with the stubborn, pig-headed candidates isn’t the right way to go. You know, seeing as how Rep’s are getting b-slapped by the Bush Administrations failures, and Hillary is, um, losing. I know she doesn’t think so, but the rest of the world pretty much gets it.

Not such a good choice of metaphor, I fear. Because even when it’s 42 to 7 at the two-minute warning, the losing team still stays on the field till the final gun.

Charlie Hebdo (English: Charlie Weekly) is a French satirical political weekly newspaper.
The French has a similar “love to hate” (note the apostrophes) relationship towards the Belgians as the Americans towards the Canadians, notably the French Canadians.
I recall that when King Baudouin I of Belgium passed away in 1993, the issue on 8/4/1993 was called: Charlie Hebdo N° 58 : Le Roi Des Cons Est Mort (The King of the Idiots is dead).
Today, if they had any interest in covering Hillary Clinton’s nomination campain, the issue would probably be named “The Queen of the Rednecks is defeated”.;)
