Bush Regrets War Legacy

Bush has said in the past that while Iraq may not be going to swimmingly right now, history will ultimately vindicate his decision to go to war.
However, now he’s admitting that his own rhetoric poisoned the well.
President Bush has admitted to The Times that his gun-slinging rhetoric made the world believe that he was a “guy really anxious for war” in Iraq. He said that his aim now was to leave his successor a legacy of international diplomacy for tackling Iran.In an exclusive interview, he expressed regret at the bitter divisions over the war and said that he was troubled about how his country had been misunderstood. “I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric.”
Phrases such as “bring them on” or “dead or alive”, he said, “indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace”.
Okay, good. Thank you Mr. President.
However…
Why is he giving this interview over THERE?
Listen, I appreciate the fact that he’s finally owning up to some of the more ridiculous statements he has made over the years, but he should have done it publicly and done it here. Americans are usually a very forgiving electorate, but you have to be upfront and honest about it. Giving this interview in another country is just bad form.
One last note…while history may ultimately vindicate his decision to go to war, it will never vindicate this man’s poor ability to communicate, and that could prove to be his most enduring legacy.
