Half of Americans Growing Weary of Obama Coverage

By Alan Stewart Carl | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Media, Polls

Looks like all the media attention being given Barack Obama is starting to grate on the American public. A new Pew Research Center poll reveals 48% of Americans believe they’re hearing too much about Obama. Only 26% say the same about John McCain.

I guess this is how a fresh face becomes a tired piece of the American landscape. Never doubt that the media knows how to beat the shine out of everything new (and, yes, in this case that includes us blogs).

I will now end this Obama post, so the half of you who’ve had enough don’t have to suffer more.

I guess I’m one of the 52% who aren’t tired of hearing about Obama. Then again, I am a blogger…

  2. Mudslide Says:

Maybe they’re weary of the coverage because 78 percent of it has been negative. I am definately one of those who are weary of McCain coverage though. Listening to him is almost as painful as listening to Bush.

If my theory is true that the candidate who gets the lion’s share of pre-election attention doesn’t have an edge, but merely makes the election a referendum on him, then this can’t be good news for Obama.
