Politico Claims Hillary Was Never Vetted?

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Democrats, Hillary, Veep

The title of the article is “Hillary gets stiffed,” but who’s really getting stiffed here? Hillary or the readers of Politico?

See, they “report” that an unnamed Democratic insider claims that Clinton was never asked for one single piece of paper from the VP vetting team. Therefore, it’s assumed she was never on Obama’s short list.

I’m sorry, but does anybody remember the 18 month rectal exam that was the Democratic primary season? If anybody doesn’t think that Clinton wasn’t thoroughly vetted by the Obama team during that time period, then they need to get their head checked.

Not only that, this is a woman who has been in the public eye for the past 16 years, 8 years of which she was one of the most scrutinized public figures in the history of American politics. What else is their to vet?

Shame on Politico for this nonsense.

I thought almost exactly same thing when I saw that….including, almost word for word, “the 18 month rectal exam that was the Democratic primary season”

there is always new stuff that may come to light. If Obama was serious about naming her as VP he wouldn’t stop the vetting process now.

Nonetheless, an aide already slipped that it will be biden: http://tinyurl.com/6jb7l6

Yea, but the kind of vetting that wasn’t done includes looking at all the Clinton library donors, business records, etc. Stuff that Camp Obama would not have had access to during the campaign.

The Marc Rich story alone could be enough of a problem if Hillary was the VP. Then there’s all the stuff about the Rose Law Firm, Whitewater, billing records, the White House Travel Office, the Indonesian donors in the 1996 campaign, and cattle futures.

It would make the stuff that brought Ferrarro down in 1984 look like a picnic by comparison.

I don’t agree with Obama on most issues, but I’m pretty sure he’s smart enough to know that he can’t pick a nominee like Hillary without knowing absolutely everything there is to know about her (at which point, most likely, he wouldn’t pick her).

In either case, I think my dog is more likely to be Obama’s running mate than Hillary at this point.

Well, something tells me that Hillary has a “leg up” on your dog.
