Now We’re Debating If Columns = God? Really?

Okay, so apparently the media characterized Obama’s stage setting at Invesco field as a “greek temple”, so this gives McCain a chance to continue to push his pathetic “Obama as God” meme.
Here’s the stage…

That’s right. Now multiple columns equals a “Greek temple” and that means Obama is suggesting he’s God.
Well, does God live in this building?

Is this a shrine to God?

Does God trade stocks in this building?

Did God accept the Republican nomination in 2004?

Oh, and does God perhaps run any number of the plantations that can be found in the South?

Moving on…

Too true. Anything to score a ridiculously cheap point, I guess.

Not even the Christian God, but a pagean god. Nice, Barrack. Next time you deify yourself, try to pick the Judeo-Christian God – regardless of the political correctness of it all. Seriously, this guy really is all about the theatre. I’m hoping that if he’s elected he lets his presidency be recorded as a reality-tv show like Big Brother. Maybe we can set up a text-message deal where the American people can send him on secret missions to different countries. Ha, Ha…the jokes on you Sweden! You’ve been Barracked Citizens of the World!

Nah, God lives in the condos they turned the old KC Fed building into, columns and all.

You have to admit, after Obama himself proclaimed that he controls the wind and the waves, and celebrity douchebags like George Kastanza and Whoopie Goldberg pray to Obama in music videos, it doesn’t help Barack shed his image as a messeanic cult of personality by preaching his acceptance speech while standing in front of an ancient greek temple.

J. Harden…is the extra “r” in Barack a new slam of some sort? Do tell.

Don’t you love it when Republicans lie? Again. And again…
Jimmy can’t even comprehend what the quote that he linked to means but he does it anyway. Then he calls people infinitely more talented than himself names and lies about what the music video says. And he can’t even comprehend how spot on Justin’s post was in pointing out how common those types of columns are in public buildings throughout the country.

Don’t get your panties all in a bunch, Jim. I think people catch my drift.

Jimmy,
I think it is closer to a Roman Temple.
Justin,
Comparing Obama’s decision to speak in front of a pretentious faux-Roman Temple to GWB’s decision to speak in front of a pretentious faux-Roman Temple… doesn’t help.

Look at the title of the post. I’m not debating that convention sets aren’t pretentious. Just that it’s RIDICULOUS to keep pushing this messiah meme because of an observation that is clearly ignorant of classic American political architecture. You know, like the White House, et al.
So since columns are pretty much a staple of our collective American political tradition, perhaps we can get beyond the whole idea of “Roman Temple?” Or do you just enjoy pushing the same meme as McCain’s camp?

When I first saw this thing it looked to me like the White House. Perhaps if anything, it makes him look a little presumptuous, sort of like that presidential seal emblem he tried to pass for his campaign insignia.
Even some Democrats consider this a faux-pas. This photoshop is kind of funny too.

John McCain is mocking the neo-classical style of Washington DC. Why doesn John McCain hate America?

See the little plastic man and his little plastic speech. See Hillary and Bill and thier little plastic applause. See the little plastic party, that proclaims democracy but forgot about Fla. and Mighigan. I bet the Columns were plastic also.
Signed,

I am a Dutchman, living in Holland, but like millions of other people who do not live in the U.S.A. I follow the presidential elections with great interest. People in Europe are always surprised by the important part that religion plays in American politics. And by the fact that American politicians refer to God and the Bible so frequently. In Europe politics and religion are two things that are kept completely seperate. I think that few Germans have any idea to what church their president belongs and think it possible that she does not belong to any church at all.
