This is so stupid from a communications perspective. The people they need out there talking about this cant be politicians. They have no credibility with the public. In contrast the public is hearing from economists that the proposed idea was not the best way to go about it and might not even work. There are a number of very good posts out there covering the economist perspective and the comm perspective.
