Quote Of The Day
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, Dumb Things Said By Smart People, McCain, Religion“I also would also pray, Lord, that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their god–whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah–that his opponent wins, for a variety of reasons. And Lord, I pray that you will guard your own reputation, because they’re going to think that their God is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you will step forward and honor your own name with all that happens between now and election day.”
- Pastor Arnold Conrad at a John McCain rally today
What a weird thing to say. God’s reputation? And let’s not ignore the very obvious and transparent attempt to once again tie Obama to the Muslim religion. Shame on him.
Even Fox News is reporting this…
And so it goes…
UPDATE:
The McCain camp responds…
“While we understand the important role that faith plays in informing the votes of Iowans, questions about the religious background of the candidates only serve to distract from the real questions in this race about Barack Obama’s judgment, policies and readiness to lead as commander in chief.”
Good to hear.

I’m just glad that Buddha managed to make it to ‘Godship’ after all that time spent trying to enlighten himself. Who knew? I wish I’d sent him a fruit basket and some chocolates or something.
As for the “Hindu” being elevated to God-status… I’m not even sure wtf that’s supposed to mean. Since when can a religion actually become a god, in and of, itself?
As for… “because they’re going to think that their God is bigger than you…”
You’d think that the Creator of the Cosmos wouldn’t feel the need to respond to such taunting… maybe the Pastor himself is feeling a little doubtful these days. Perhaps he should spend a bit less time at political rallies and a little more time with his Bible….
I’m just sayin’.

So with God being Allah and vice versa, is he going to compete with himself? Who else is sick of the Christian Wrong interjecting their religion into our politics and government? *raises hand*

You know me well JG!
5% chance Obama is a closet atheist.
