I COMPLETELY agree with Matthews here about the Roe. v. Wade issue, and I have no idea why McCain brought this up. He already has his base. But then again, women were fleeing him anyway so why stop the bleeding now?

I think McCain is trying to fire up the base when he talks about abortion because at this point, it is a matter of avoiding a 15% defeat and watching the Dems get 60 in the Senate. If you want to appeal the middle, you don’t use quotes around health when referring to a women’s health.
