Powell On McCain’s Negativity
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, McCain, Race, VideoThis came after the Meet The Press endorsement…
Looks like Ayers and the Muslim attacks really hurt McCain.
What’s more, Powell seems to be really staying on top of the race, as he mentioned that congresswoman from Minnesota and her insipid “anti-American” comments. That was a very small news item, but we talked about it here.
Listen, Powell’s endorsement may not change this race, but my gut tells me it’ll have a much more significant effect than many would think. Otherwise, the right-wing wouldn’t be spending all this time trying to minimize it due to race. Because that’s the last card they have left, and if they’re playing it against Powell, you know they’re worried.
More as it develops…

Geez, I really like Powell. He just seems measured, bright, and intelligent whenever I hear him speak. I’ve forgiven the mess that was his time in the Bush administration – he clearly was ignored and marginalized for dissenting opinions and was not behind the terrible judgment we’ve seen from the White House. Shame we can’t vote for him for something.

I’d like to see Colin Powell have a position in the government again, perhaps he will be asked.
