Rasmussen: Obama Leads By 4

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, Barack, McCain, Polls

Obama – 50%
McCain – 46%

McCain gains one and Obama loses one and the race has tightened a bit more than expected today.

I say this for two reasons.

First, by all indicators, Obama won the last debate. Second, Powell endorsed Obama early on Sunday, so these numbers include that day as well.

Still, is this a big deal? Not really. Because as Ramussen shows…

McCain has regained his advantage among male voters, leading by 5. However, Obama leads by 11 among women.

Still, from a broader perspective, the race remains very stable. Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% every day for 25 straight days while McCain’s total has stayed between 44% and 46%.

Obama is viewed favorably by 54%, McCain by 53%.

The 5 day:
10/20/2008: McCain – 46%, Obama – 50%
10/19/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 51%
10/18/2008: McCain – 45%, Obama – 50%
10/17/2008: McCain – 46%, Obama – 50%
10/16/2008: McCain – 46%, Obama – 50%

More tomorrow…
