Sarah and Todd.I'm not a big fan of hers either. I do think it is worthy to take this time to stop the Palins from further doing these shady deals, from harming peoples, harassing them, an damaging people's reputation by ganging up on them.( from all the people) that work and picked by you.
Mike Wooten did some things that he shouldn't have done. I'm with the impression that he was already punished
for this. You can't bring in your personal grudges into your office and use your position to punish and humiliated him. Because of this you've lost your integrity.Pay back the money trips, clothes, makeup etc, It adds up to $150,000.00 clothes plus
22,000 for trips = 172,000.00
Todd shouldn't be in your office he doesn't have a job there and he shouldn't know interoffice private information. It doesn't matter what people did before you. It is wrong This intimates everyone except the people you favour.
Monegan was been under you and you may have a right.
WOOTEN is not and he has been looked after by the law,
Integrity is the greatest gift we have. Loose that and you won't beable to look at yourself in the mirror.
There are some other issues that could be brought up if you become cruel . So take a breath, close your eyes and ask God to help you know, what it is that He wants you do.

Steve: I appreciate your feedback. Assuming the report is correct, which I'm not yet totally on board with, how is the firing of Wooten strictly advancement of a personal agenda? To me, it is clearly in the state's interest although it admittedly benefits her and her family as well. I understand that he is owed due process, but the problem was, no one was following that. Can you seriously tell me that he deserved only warnings after repeated major offenses?

To be honest, I am not a big Palin fan, but I don't think this issue is worthy of any kind of attention. I think it is largely different than the alleged reason for this administration's firing of Ass. US Attorneys. I just think there are a lot bigger things to be worried about.

Split-Party: The Branchflower report states: "Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda, to wit: to get Trooper Michael Wooten fired." Advancing a personal agenda through public office is a violation of Alaska law and unethical.

Perhaps you are not yet tired of the abuse of power we have witnessed in the current administration (e.g. the firing of Assistant US Attorneys based on their unwillingness to corrupt their office to accomplish political objectives) but Palin embodies more of the same but with less tact.

Wooten is a state trooper and is, therefore, entitled to the same due process protections afforded to all other state troopers. He should not be singled out because Palin and her husband decided Palin had the power to persecute her ex-brother-in-law.

Here's another question...Has anyone been more obsessed with a VP candidate than Justin with Palin?

Let's all take a step back and look at this logically. Monegan would not fire Wooten. Troopers investigated 13 issues and found 4 in which Wooten violated policy:

1. Used a taser on his step-son
2. Illegally shot a moose
3. Drank beer in his patrol car
4. Told others his father-in-law would "eat a f'ing lead bullet" if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce

So the truth is, Wooten deserved to be fired from any job muchless a state trooper job. Monegan would not fire Wooten. Therefore, Monegan deserved to be fired. Did Palin dislike Wooten - of course. Did he deserve to be fired - of course. It was Monegan's job to fire him but he did not...so...where is the issue? You can criticize her experience, but don't waste everyone's time with this BS.

I think the main reason that Palin is such a big deal this time is because McCain has proven to be such a lousy candidate. Whether it's helping or hurting their campaign, just about everything she does/says is more interesting than whatever McCain happens to be doing that day.

Biden says some good things and says some stupid things, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter because Obama is where 99% of the focus is on that ticket. With McCain/Palin, the attention is much more evenly split.

I hope that someone will find her guilty (again?), but I don't think (again) that there'll be any disciplinary action against her.

Who knows, maybe in a few years she'll release a book titled "If I Did It", chronicling how she would've abused her power in order to get her ex-brother-in-law fired.

Newsweek reports that the board hired a tough trial lawyer, Tim Petumenos, as independent counsel, so the irony would be profound if the investigator ended up issuing harsher conclusions than the previous investigation provided.

Given the fact that the Personnel Board members are answerable to Palin, though, I'm not too hopeful that it will give a fair decision. In fact, it'll probably just squelch Petumenos's report if it ends up being unfavorable.
