Andrew Sullivan And Marc Ambinder Discuss “Celebrity”

More broadly, they talk about the various attacks McCain has made against Obama, and vice versa, and then they land on the very first “celebrity” attacks.

Definitely worth a watch even if you’re not a fan of Sullivan.

I think the point that Sully makes here about the comparison between Obama and Paris Hilton is dead on. Basically, say what you want about Obama’s experience, but the guy has fought tooth and nail to get to where he is today, and is a living breathing example of the American Dreamâ„¢.

On the other hand, Paris Hilton is the daughter of a billionaire who got famous by making a sex tape. I’m sure that’s the definition of the american dream for a small slice of the population, but the comparison between her and Obama is not apt.
