CNN Confirms Palin “Rogue” Story

By Justin Gardner | Related entries in 2008 Election, McCain, Palin, Republicans

Politico wrote about it first, but now there’s a secondary outlet confirming it so you can be sure that there’s some strife between the McCain and Palin factions.

Here’s more…

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin “going rogue” recently, while a Palin associate says she is simply trying to “bust free” of what she believes was a mishandled roll-out that damaged her.

McCain sources point to several incidents where Palin has gone off message, and privately wonder if they were deliberate. For example: labeling robo calls “irritating,” even as the campaign was defending the use of them and telling reporters she disagreed with the campaigns controversial decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source tells CNN she appears to now be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

Of note, these stories were written before Palin’s thumbs up to ethanol, which McCain never would’ve approved.

This could get ugly.

Palin is clearly acting in her own self-interest at this point. Which, given the fact that she’s second mate on a sinking ship, is a politically smart thing to do.

  2. Pico Says:

    But she’s his soul mate!

  3. Aruna Hollingshead Says:

Currently Pailin is paling. She’s got the taste of blood just like a man who will never settle for water after tasting wine.
If the RNC & McCain paid $150,000 to dress her up then they must also be prepared to see her strut her stuff.

If Palin continues “going rogue” and McCain loses, she will be seen by many Republicans as the reason he lost. They will turn on her like hungry wolves, and she won’t have a chance at a future high political office. In case you don’t know it by now, Republican are even better at being sore losers than Democrats.

  5. RICHARD Says:

Palin was great to “energize the base” and get votes McCain already had but she didn’t earn him any new votes. As a matter of fact she may cost him votes he may have gotten with different and more qualified running mate.

It was all fun and exciting for a while but the brilliance in common brass not 24k gold has now tarnished. She is not a team player and just a little bit of national power has gone to her head. She has already turned on her master, the one who gave her the 15 minutes of fame. This isn’t just my theory, the McCain campaign is complaining she has gone off and not taking advice or staying on the McCain message. May be she is angry for being used to pander for the women vote and now part of a losing team. She has never lost an election before and she might have regrets about being used and now can’t handle losing an election.
