Palin Denounces Clothing Expenditures

She’s in CYA mode now, and with good reason. The McCain campaign has nearly fractured her image as a populist reformer and she has to do something to try and salvage it.
Ensuring that news of the Republican National Committee’s sartorial spending spree will remain in the headlines for at least one more news cycle, Sarah Palin on Sunday sounded off on the $150,000 wardrobe that was purchased for her in September, denouncing the report as “ridiculous” and declaring emphatically: “Those clothes, they are not my property.”A senior adviser to John McCain told CNN’s Dana Bash that the comments about her wardrobe “were not the remarks we sent to her plane this morning.” Palin did not discuss the wardrobe story at her rally in Kissimmee later in the day.
The only problem with doing something like this? As the CNN story says, it ensures that this stays in the news cycle for at least another day or two. So people are going to focus on her clothing instead of her ideas.
Oh well…

I am back to wearing my own clothes from my favorite consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska. – What’s frugal to some, is extravagant to others. This is Mrs. Palin’s favorite consignment shop: http://www.outoftheclosetalaska.com

She can say whatever she wants about saying the clothes are not hers whatever. I wonder how many of us that are having a really hard time saving what few cents we can here and there, would we be able to buy a 2,500.00 blazer {over her blouse} buy it then give. Gee we could’nt even buy it!!! I cannot believe her and McCain buying that crap to wear a few times and then give it away while the American people are having a hard time to put food on the table for our children to be able to eat!!!!! So now she had on a pair of Jeans!!!! Should have worn them before, you might have been more SOME OF US MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT YOU REALLY CARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then why did she accept them in the first place, along with items for the rest of her family and travel costs for the entire clan. If she felt that wy she should have refused to wear them

Palin is the ultimate opportunist. One could make that argument for a lot of politicians, but Palin’s record is extraordinary.
1. Inappropriately uses to Governorship to settle a family score
2. Lobbies for the VP slot
3. Accepts $250K for clothes from the GOP (astonishing)
4. Goes “rogue†on the McCain campaign to salvage her political career
This is Sarah Palin’s Excellent Adventure.

I feel bad for Larry tonight. Those dames on the show are crazy, rude, and wicked annoying. Seriously, what women thinks she will be respected when she says she cried in her car after hearing Palin was chosen as McCain’s vice? Cowgirl up, hun- politics is still a boys’ club, like it or not. I hope there weren’t too many people watching this particular show because it’s degrading to women. As for Palin, it is time for a change…wardrobe is not exactly the change we’re looking for.

Did any of you ever once question what the Obama family spent on their clothing? How dare you criticize Governor Palin when in context you don’t even know what you’re talking about. And also, the Obama campaign spent a hell of a lot more on their capaign than the McCain/Palin people but I guess that doesn’t bother you democrats when you are the ones wasting millions of dollars to buy votes from people who obviously don’t have a mind of their own to think with!
