Palin May Want To Avoid Senate Run

Because it looks like she’d be embarrassed by the Republican incumbent.
Pollster Dave Dittman just finished a statewide survey on a possible Palin-versus-Murkowski matchup – and Murkowski beats Palin, at least in this poll, hands down.Murkowski garnered 57 percent to Palin’s 33 percent; 9 percent said they were not sure.
And given the senator’s popularity, Dittman says Palin would not be wise to challenge Murkowski.
“And I think there would be a feeling, too, of overreaching — going too far, too aggressive, too much too soon — if Sarah decided to run for Senate,” Dittman said. “When you’ve already got someone there with seniority, who most people think is doing a good job, I think it would be a huge mistake.”
Obviously this is just one poll, but traditionally if the incumbent is well above 50% and the challenger can’t break 40% then the challenger should think twice. Especially if the challenger has the huge name recognition that Palin does.
My two cents? Stay put Sarah and wait for 2016. I know you’ll want to jump the gun and run in 2012, but trust me…that’s not your year. Let Romney, Huckabee and Pawlenty duke it out. Then challenge Jindal in 2016.
Still, do I want Palin to run in 2012? Of course. What a story!
Moving on…

Yes, eight more years of seasoning might make for a viable presidential candidate. Oh, wait–we’re talking about Palin? In that case I have no comment.

I agree with ExiledIndependent…it doesn’t matter if Palin waits 12 years, she’ll never be a good candidate.
