I think that the concern over the Clinton team is somewhat overblown. When you change jobs, you take direction from a new boss and try (at least on some level) to do what they want. Even if someone worked for Clinton it doesn't mean they agreed with everything Clinton wanted to do.

The economic proposals from Obama make sense at least for the short term. I don't know if he has the will needed to prevent pet projects across the board, but I an confident that he has the will needed to keep his administration in line about it. I think the bigger challenge is going to be cutting the spending/adding taxes down the road when the economy improves.

I'd like to see 21st century career training as part of any government infrastructure job. If someone works for two years rebuilding a bridge, but after that they're left with fairly irrelevant job experience once all of the infrastructure projects are done. Would be great if part of the work day/work week would include professional training that would be viable long after a road gets repaved.

Also, I wonder if anyone is willing to look at a reduction of work visas for non-US residents. Controversial, but the argument could be made that we need to put Americans to work first, then assist the rest of the world's economies.

Thoughts?

While I can see the merit of many of his selections for the cabinet and many of the new "Czar" postings I to am concerned about the long term ramifications associated with the heavy inclusion of the original Clinton team players. It brings many questions to me about how much change can be brought forward with so many of the same old players on the “new” team of change. This is a question I have asked on my blog designed to follow Obama through his full term of 1,461 days in office. Perhaps I can get some of your thoughts there as well as the thoughts of some of your readers as well.
