Jimmi, you beat me to it! Isn't the 64k question how many "non-combat" troops will remain?

Here's what I want to know: how many of the TOTAL American troops now in Iraq will be leaving Iraq in the next 19 months? And of those, how many are coming home?

These are combat troops, which have already been reduced substantially, and we will have a permanent military presence there like we do in Korea or Germany.

Remember that Obama chastised McCain for suggesting this during the presidential campaign.

Ditto MW
It's all good.
If we're out by the time the next campaign for Prez ramps up, it will be a success.

How is this any different than the plan Bush had in place when he left? This isn't execution of a new policy, this is another holdover from the Bush administration.

Excellent news. All good. But, as you know, this timetable was set by Maliki and Iraq last summer, and has little to do with Obama's promise. But that is as it should be. They stood up. We stand down. Done and Done. I'm just glad we are getting out of there.
