Saddam Was Responsible For Oklahoma City Bombing?
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in History, Iraq, Partisan Hacks, TerrorismMore fun from the neo-conservatives.
Here’s the transcript…
MATTHEWS: The polling that took place before we attacked, conducted by “Time†and CNN, showed that 72 percent of the American people, nearly three quarters, believed it was likely that Saddam Hussein was involved in the attack on us 9/11. How do you think they got that idea, that somehow going to war with Iraq was getting even for 9/11?GAFFNEY: Well, as I said, he kept saying that he was going to try to get even against us for Desert Storm, so it wouldn‘t be unreasonable for people to conclude maybe that that‘s what he was doing. There‘s also circumstantial evidence, not proven by any means, but nonetheless some pretty compelling circumstantial evidence of Saddam Hussein‘s Iraq being involved with the people who perpetrated both the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center and even the Oklahoma City bombing.
They have video over at C&L.
Amazing.

Isn’t it about time for the neocons to crawl back into the hole that they were violently expelled from?

I am waiting to hear that Saddam was responsible for the Lindberg baby murder as well.
This type of crap has been floating around for a while. It is also dangerous because it takes focus away from domestic terrorism.

Yes, Saddam was responsible for it all. 9/11, WTC in 1993, Oklahoma City, Vietnam, The Spanis-American War (Remember the Maine!), The Civil War and The Alamo.

They’re still looking for a “reason” that will stick.

I just took a look in my US Army issue Hans-Wehr Arabic Dictionary and found no less than eleven different words from the root S-D-M. Also, I found two other roots that could be confused with it (there are two other letters that can sound like the hard-S).
Meanings include, but are not limited to: the biblical Soddom, verbs “to hit,” “to strike,” “to bump,” “to dry up,” nouns for “vigor,” “saddle,” “strength,” and about a hundred more. One of the roots is among the most commonly-used in Arabic.
Given the complete lack of context, the idea of an American hearing something that sounds like “Saddam” when it isn’t seems extremely high to me. But hey, I’m just an overeducated speaker of furrin’ langwijjes, whaddo I know?
