There&#039;s the additional fact that most batteries have a limited life (less than the automobiles), and the environmental costs for the disposal of these is high.

As with most technology&#039;s that have high worldwide demand, you would hope the battery life would improve generation after generation thereby reducing the impact.</description>

		<description>It should also be noted that the only place in the world you can mine some of the materials for electric car batteries is in China.  Them bumping up their electric car production will increase demand for the material world wide.  You have to wonder if this is a little politically driven.</description>
