Which either means Bibi is lying, or Mr. Bush is not just a liar but an incredible fool. If true it means the Israelis never intended to compromise. They didn't bail on Gaza to bring peace, they bailed on Gaza because it was more trouble than it was worth. My guess is that the Israelis, who have time and time again compromised on the settlement issue – including the dismantling of all of the Gazan settlements . . .

Yeah fantastic speech, imagine if we had a president who was intelligent and could deliver a message that strong for the past 8 years. Imagine how things could be different.

Chris, if you didn’t hear Obama’s speech today, and I gave you a transcript, along with one of the many speeches President Bush made to a Muslim audience, you would never know the difference.

So far, Obama has made no signs to get tough with Iran over the nuclear program. Israel is running out of time and perhaps they are trying to gain leverage. But if the US is serious about reining in the settlements, I could see the government fracturing, and new elections n Israel.
