VIDEO: Obama And Meyers Kill At White House Correspondence Dinner
By Justin Gardner | Related entries in Barack, Comedy, Democrats, Media, Obama, Republicans, VideoI wouldn’t want to be Donald Trump today. Ouch.
Obama’s part opened with the theme song “I Am A Real American,” and it just got worse for Trump from there. Trump jokes are at 9:45 in, but you’ll probably want to watch the whole thing.
And then SNL’s Seth Meyers weighed in. His Trump jokes are at 12 minutes in…and he shares the same feeling about Trump as I do…this is a joke, right?
What did you think?

I thought Obama was amusing, not hilarious. I actually agree with Trump in that Meyers was pretty dull with a stilted delivery.
No one will ever top the cringe inducing Colbert–the most ballsy, hllarious, wicked performance ever.

Obama’s delivery is excellent, and Seth was nervous, I think. He rushed a bit. But the material was great. I laughed out loud more than once. I enjoyed watching Trump scowl through most, and cracking a smile when Obama talked about his show. I think deep down his ego beamed to hear the President of the United States talk about his show in such detail. It seems pretty clear Trump has “jumped the shark” on this. Or maybe been pushed over the shark. Either way, I think it’ll be hard for the media to take him seriously now. Too bad for Obama. What better than to have Trump as the GOP front runner, not that he needs any more advantage…

I agree with gerryf….Colbert’s performance, in terms of comedic significance, was historic.

“The Donald” came across as a pompous twit who lacks the ability to laugh at himself. Does anyone honestly believe his potential run at the White House is anything more than an ego driven publicity stunt?
The President did himself no harm and Seth was great but, I also agree with others that Steven Colbert set the bar at a very high mark a few years ago. Cheers

LOl that was all way too good! I am very impressed! And at least we can now breathe a sigh of relief that Trump isn’t going to run!
