Oh Denny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling.
By mw | Related entries in Democrats, health care reform, Obama, OhioRemember this? On March 15, 2010 Dennis Kucinich went for a joy ride on Air Force One with President Obama. Before he got on the plane he was against Obamacare saying:
“This bill represents a giveaway to the insurance industry… $70 billion a year, and no guarantees of any control over premiums, forcing people to buy private insurance.”
After he got off the plane, he supported it. Some have suggested that Dennis sold his vote for a ride on Air Force One.
What nonsense. Dennis Kucinich is a man of principle. He would never sell his vote in such a cheap and tawdry manner. Far more likely, he sold his vote for a promise of a job in the Obama administration, but only if he should he lose his congressional seat. After all, trading jobs for political favors is The Chicago Way.
Perhaps we’ll soon find out. Dennis Kucinich lost his Ohio congressional seat in a hotly contested primary yesterday. The reaction from the right and left is predictable, but even some on the right are sorry to see him go.
Or he can call in that Obamacare chit. The President owes him one.
