Windows 10 Upgrade Available For FREE
Windows 10 is surely the operating system that most Windows 7 and Windows 8 users have been expecting for quite a while. Well, we have to remind you that once this operating system was released, Microsoft has offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 for anyone that owned a Windows 7 or Windows 8 license.
Officially, the “FREE upgrade to Windows 10” for Windows 7/8 users has expired in July 2016. Well, we are now in August 2017 and we can confirm that there are still two ways that you can use to get the Windows 10 FREE upgrade. According to Techspot, both these ways have remained open since the free upgrade has expired, but there are not many users who know about them.
The first way to get the free Windows 10 FREE upgrade is to use assistive technologies with the desktop OS. Keep in mind that Microsoft will NOT ask for any verification that you use assistive tech, which is one of the reasons why everyone is now upgrading to Windows 10 through this solution.
Microsoft says that in case you are using assistive technology on Windows, you are eligible for the upgrade offer. We’re not sure why the company is not trying to “see” if the users are using any assistive technology and it allows everyone that owns a Windows 7/8 License to upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE.
However, we think that Microsoft is aware that there are many users who are using this method to upgrade from Windows 7/8 to Windows 10. The company doesn’t want to stop the users from doing this, as it is quite happy that more and more people prefer to upgrade to the latest Windows OS.
In fact, we think that the company will never stop from allowing the users from doing this. With that being said, if you find a cheap Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, purchase it as you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 OS without any problems.
Upgrading From Windows 7/8 To Windows 10 Through The Product Key
There is also another way that allows you to easily upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8 to Windows 10. To do this, you will just need to use your Windows 7/8 product key to launch up a Windows 10 upgrade. You will notice that once you do this, the upgrading method will work without any problems. In fact, we’re quite surprised that this option still works, but there again, Microsoft is quite happy to see that there are more and more people who start using Windows 10 OS.
We have to say that there are reports, which are suggesting that sometime in the near future, Microsoft will stop allowing the users to freely upgrade to Windows 10 OS from Windows 7/8. However, we don’t think that the company will do this, at least not until the end of 2017.
The good news is that Microsoft has confirmed in the past that when it decides to stop the assistive technologies upgrade scheme, it will make an official announcement. However, back then the company has not mentioned anything about the other way to upgrade to Windows 10 (by using your Windows 7/8 product key). We need to mention that “officially,” this option to upgrade to Windows 10 should not exist anymore.
However, until Microsoft decides to stop these two ways to freely upgrade to Windows 10 OS, we suggest you to use them while you still can. We remind that many tech experts have compared Windows 10 to Windows 7 and Windows 8, and most of them have mentioned that the new operating system is more secure and stable than the previous ones.
Do you own a Windows 7/8 product key? Will you use any of the two ways to upgrade to Windows 10 for FREE?
