Android 7.0 Nougat Update Reaches Asus Zenfone 3 Laser

Asus is a pretty well-known Taiwanese tech company, especially when it comes to laptops. That being said, most of us probably also know that their smartphones are very good and worth looking into if you didn’t know about them. The fact that Asus’s flagship Zenfone 3 Laser is now getting the new Android 7.0 Nougat update before many other bigger brand devices should be proof enough of their quality.

What the Update Brings

Even though the Asus Zenfone 3 Laser is a mid-range smartphone, its upgrade to firmware version V14.2015.1701.13 comes with all the perks of the new Android 7.0 Nougat that other more expensive smartphones are getting. We’re talking about enhanced graphics API, improved doze and even the multi-window feature. And, on top of these coveted Nougat perks, Asus has also included some new features of its own in the update.

The interface of the Quick Settings menu has been tweaked, and now the Ringtone & Notifications volume bar is divided into two separate ones, one for Ringtone and one for Notifications. Pretty handy, huh? On top of that, the newest firmware for Asus Zenfone 3 Laser devices now enables VoWiFi, as well as FET VoLTE.

However, the new firmware update also removed some features, such as the Share Link app and some shortcuts that weren’t used that often in the first place. Wallpapers that were incompatible with Android N have also been removed in order to provide a better user experience.

All in all, the new Android 7.0 Nougat update for Asus Zenfone 3 Laser is pretty great, and has improved the overall quality of the mid-range smartphone tremendously. If you were thinking of buying a mid-range smartphone and didn’t know what to look into, maybe it’s time you gave Asus Zenfone 3 Laser a chance.
